LINE-X COATED PINK FORKLIFT RAISES MONEY FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH
-- LINE-X of Brandon supports local fundraising efforts for Susan G. Komen Foundation --
Florida Lift Systems, headquartered in Tampa, Florida and a frequent LINE-X customer, is in its 60th year in business as the exclusive distributor of new and used Toyota forklifts throughout Central, Northern Florida and Southern Georgia.
Jim Cain, general manager of rental, leasing and transportation at Florida Lift Systems, and his daughter Vanessa participate in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure walk every year. After an employee was diagnosed and succumbed to cancer last year, Jim decided it was time to take it to the next level.
“The Pink Forklift was 100% his idea,” said Jeff Fischer, owner of Florida Lift Systems. “We applaud the uniqueness and creativity he exhibits in this effort. His dedication is another example of the commitment that all of our employees have to finding a cure. All of our Associates have been challenged to live up to our theme of ‘Going the Extra Mile’ this year.”
Each time the pink forklift is rented, 10% of the cost will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
Jeff contacted LINE-X of Brandon with the proposition. Molly and Kevin Koehnke, owners of LINE-X of Brandon, jumped at the opportunity to participate in this project.
“In 16 years we’ve done a lot of great projects. This one is actually one of our favorites because the project is being used to donate to a great cause,” said Molly. “It’s such a great idea we are hoping lots of people rent the forklift!”
Although widely known for its spray-on truck bedliners, LINE-X of Brandon has utilized its award-winning products in other markets including military, industrial, and commercial applications, including the U.S. Pentagon. LINE-X’s unique solutions for a wide range of applications provide options that are flexible in terms of durability, appearance and protection.
The forklift was coated entirely with pink LINE-X XTRA. In addition to its striking visual appeal, the coating offers unmatched durability, protecting against rust, corrosion, abrasion and UV damage. With a LINE-X application, this forklift will stay in operation and provide charitable contributions for years to come.
“LINE-X is a unique process for coating forklift trucks to prevent wear. Jim tried this on several forklift 3 years ago and the outcome was tremendous. And the local LINE-X folks were great to work with!” Fischer said.
